Architect: Stauder Architecture PROJECT FACTS Project entailed the renovation of an existing church facility and approximately 4,000 sq. ft. of additions including a new transept, offices, new lobby and octagonal stair tower. Supporting columns for the existing roof trusses were removed to provide access from the church to the new transept. Additional openings in the existing exterior walls allowed access to other additions. Skylights and windows were also added in areas of the existing building. Location: St. Louis, MO Construction: Existing conditions included a concrete two-way pan slab or waffle-slab at the first floor and a steel frame roof structure at gathering and office areas. An exposed wood roof structure with a slab-on-grade at the church nave was also present. The new construction was a steel frame structure. |
